A dessert, traditionally served on America's east coast that is a combination of a pie and a cobbler. It consists of fruit, most often berries, which are cooked beneath a crust of biscuit dough. It has no uniform shape and when served, it "slumps" as it is placed on the plate, thus the origin of the name. A Slump is similar to a Grunt with the exception that a Slump in baked and a Grunt is steamed.
