Individual servings that typically consist of finely ground meat, fish, poultry, or vegetables compacted together and formed into a shape for serving. At times, rice or potatoes are also used which are combined with cheese to be made into Croquettes. The ingredients for the Croquette are mixed with a very thick sauce to create a paste, which is chilled and then cut into squares or rolled into balls. The formed Croquette is then dipped in egg, rolled in breadcrumbs, and fried in a skillet or deep-fried. They make an excellent appetizer for parties or evening meals.
