An Italian dry salami that is very similar to domestic salami except for the size of this dry sausage. Translated as small salami, Salametti is a smaller version of salami that typically has a diameter of 1 inch while the domestic salami has a diameter of 3 to 4 inches. This variety of salami is generally made from ground pork often mixed with beef and spices that are packed into a natural casing. In the United States, Salametti is usually considered to be the same as pepperoni where it is used as a snacking salami or a topping for pizza and other baked foods. Several sticks of this salami would be referred to as Salametto.
