Saccharin

An artificial sweetener that has only 1/8 of a calorie per teaspoon and is considered to be several hundred times sweeter than sugar. It is used to sweeten many processed foods and beverages and is used in the home as a sweetener also. Some people feel that it leaves a slightly bitter aftertaste. Saccharin is available in grocery stores in powder or liquid form.
