Yule Log Cake

A type of cake, which is prepared much like a jelly roll that is traditionally prepared and served at Christmas. It is made with a thin layer of sponge cake that is covered with chocolate frosting and then rolled into a log shape. It is then covered with additional frosting, which is applied to the surface in such a way as to resemble the bark on a tree. It is also decorated with meringue that is shaped to resemble mushrooms and nuts and other colors of icing to resemble moss.
