A beverage containing alcohol, which is produced from fermented grape juice. Red wine is a nonsparkling wine that may vary in color intensity and can be dry, which is nonsweet, semisweet or sweet. Its flavor will depend on the type of grapes that it is made from. The serving temperature for red wine is around 65°F. Red wines should be uncorked and allowed to sit for a period of time before they are served so that pent-up gasses are released. The amount of time may range from a half hour to several hours depending on the variety of red wine being served. This differs from white wines, which are chilled and served immediately after opening.
