Different measuring systems are used in various parts of the world however, three most common systems are United States units of measure, British or Imperial units of measure, and the Metric System, which is used by the majority of the world. Conversion charts are readily available and accessible to allow for the converting of one measure to another for use in recipes.

The Metric units of measure use millimeter and liter for liquid measures.
