Crushed Red Pepper

A spice consisting of coarsely ground flakes of dried red chiles. The seeds are also ground with the chiles. Crushed red pepper provides a medium hot flavor to many dishes and is especially popular in Mexican, Southwestern, and Cajun recipes.
