Grape Leaves

not yet rated
Leaves obtained from grape vines and served as edible leaves to wrap ingredients for cooking. They are commonly used in Greek and Middle Eastern dishes, where they are often referred to as "dolmas." The dolmas can be appetizers or main dishes that use grape leaves to hold the ingredients together for serving and ease of eating. Fresh grape leaves should be rinsed and then blanched for a short time before using. Most grape leaves sold commercially in the U.S. are bottled in brine, so the leaves should be rinsed thoroughly before using.
