  • 1/2 cup water
  • 1 tablespoon lemon juice
  • 1 tablespoon cooking oil
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
Directions
  • Sprinkle steaks with pepper and garlic salt.
  • Make a marinade of the soy sauce, water, lemon juice, cooking oil, and brown sugar.
  • Place the steaks in a large sealable plastic bag, pour in the marinade, and seal tightly.
  • Marinate in the refrigerator for at least two hours. For best results, marinate the steaks overnight in the refrigerator.
  • Grill to your desired doneness.

  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F. Line a large baking sheet with foil and lightly spray it with cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, combine the broccoli, olive oil, lemon juice, and garlic. Sprinkle with salt and gently toss all together until broccoli is evenly coated with the oil.
  • Spread the broccoli out on the foil-lined baking sheet in a single layer. Place in the preheated oven and roast for 15 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and gently toss the broccoli on the baking sheet and then return to the oven. Roast for another 15 minutes or until lightly browned.
  • Remove from the oven and place in a serving bowl. Sprinkle with pepper and parmesan cheese. Toss gently and serve.

  • 1 package yellow cake mix
  • 1 2/3 cups applesauce
  • 3 eggs
  • GLAZE:
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla or almond extract
Directions
  • Grease inside of Bundt pan. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F.
  • Mix the sugar and cinnamon together. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of the cinnamon and sugar mixture in the greased pan. Set the remainder aside.
  • Blend together the cake mix, applesauce, and eggs; beat for 2 minutes.
  • Pour half the batter into the greased and sugared Bundt pan. Sprinkle the remaining cinnamon and sugar mixture over the batter in the pan.
  • Pour in the rest of the batter. Bake in preheated oven for 30 to 35 minutes.
  • Remove from the oven and allow to cool for 10 to 15 minutes and then remove from the pan by turning out onto a cake plate. Allow to cool completely.
GLAZE:
  • Mix the powdered sugar, milk, and extract together until smooth. Adjust amount of powdered sugar or milk to get desired consistency.
  • Drizzle over the cooled cake.

Directions
Make 3 patties with the ground beef, season with salt and pepper. Place the beef on a 12-inch square piece of aluminum foil and put a slice of onion on top of the meat.

Next, add sliced potato, carrots and rice, to your preference. Season all to taste and top each with a tablespoon of butter.

Fold the foil up around the ingredients, to seal in the juices. Place all the little dinners on a cookie sheet and bake at 350 until done, approximately 30 minutes.

VARIATION: A pork chop can also be used in these dinners.

  • 1 can green enchilada sauce
  • 1 cup shredded cheddar cheese
Directions
  • Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Spray 9x13 inch pan with coking spray.
  • Boil the chicken with chicken bouillon cubes; use 1 bouillon cube per cup of water used.
  • Shred the chicken. Mix chicken with sour cream, mozzarella cheese, and onions until the chicken is covered. More sour cream and cheese can be added if desired.
  • Add a couple scoops of the chicken mix onto each tortilla. Roll up and place in pan. Continue until chicken mix is all used.
  • Top with enchilada sauce and sprinkle with cheddar cheese.
  • Cover with foil. Bake at 350 degrees for about 25-30 minutes.
  • Remove foil and bake another 5 minutes, so the cheese will brown.

  • FROSTING:
  • 1/2 cup butter
  • 2 cups powdered sugar

Directions
Heat oven to 375°. Grease and flour a jelly roll pan (15x10 inches).

Mix sugar, sour cream, butter, and eggs in large mixer bowl on low for 1 minute.

Beat in mashed bananas and vanilla on low for 30 seconds.

Beat in flour, salt and soda on medium for 1 minute.

Stir in nuts. Spread in pan. Bake until light brown, 20-25 minutes. Cool.

For frosting, heat butter over medium heat until delicate brown color. Remove from heat. Mix in powdered sugar. Beat in vanilla and milk. Mix until smooth and spreadable.

Frost cooled bars.

  • 6 pieces Romaine lettuce

Directions
Combine ground sirloin, onions, pepper, Teriyaki sauce and garlic in mixing bowl. Mix well with your hands. Divide into 6 sections. Form a small round ball with your hands until tight. Then flatten with both hands to form patty.

Grill 6-8 minutes per side.

Serve on seeded Kaiser rolls with Romaine lettuce, tomato, raw slice Spanish onion, mayonnaise and ketchup. Salt and pepper to taste.

Directions
Prepare macaroni according to package directions; drain and set aside.

Melt butter in a large heavy sauce pan over medium-high heat. Slowly wisk in flour until smooth; cook; whisking for 2 minutes.

Gradually wisk in milk, black and red pepper. Cook, whisking constantly for 15 minutes or until thick and bubbly; remove from heat.

Stir in shredded cheddar, parmesan and 1/2 cheese product, until smooth. Stir macaroni into cheese mixture and pour into a lightly greased 11x17 baking dish. Sprinkle evenly with remaining cheese product.

Bake at 350 degrees for 30-35 minutes, or until lightly browned. Let stand for 5 minutes.

Directions
  • Break fettuccine in half or thirds and cook as directed on package; drain and set aside.
  • Prepare a 9 x 13 casserole dish by coating bottom and sides with butter or cooking spray; set aside.
  • Heat butter in a large skillet until hot. Add the red pepper and asparagus; saute until just crisp tender.
  • Add the Progresso Recipe Starter, cream, and garlic powder; stir together until well mixed.
  • Add in the fettuccine, half of the French fried onions, and half of the cheese to the skillet; stir together and then pour into the prepared casserole.
  • Sprinkle the top with the remaining French fried onions and cheese.
  • Cover with foil and bake for 40 minutes or until bubbling. Remove the foil and bake for an additional 10 to 15 minutes to brown the French fried onions.

  • 1 package frozen strawberries (10 ounce pkg)
  • 2 bananas, sliced thin or diced
  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 2 1/2 cups boiling water
  • 1/2 cup pecans, finely chopped (optional)
Directions
Empty Jello into large bowl and dissolve in boiling water.

Add partly thawed strawberries and bananas. Refrigerate until almost firm.

Pour 1/2 of mixture into dish or casserole and spread layer of sour cream over mixture. Pour remaining Jello mixture over sour cream. Refrigerate until ready to serve.

If desired, sprinkle nuts just before serving.

  • 1 large Yukon Gold potato
  • 1 small onion
  • 1 egg
  • 2 tablespoons butter - softened
  • 1 tablespoon honey or light corn syrup
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh parsley
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 package yeast - dry active, 1/4 oz.
  • 1 cup milk - warmed to 70 - 80 degrees
  • 4 cups bread flour
  • TOPPING:
  • 1 egg - beat lightly for egg wash
  • Extra parmesan cheese
Directions
  • Peel and cut potato into cubes. Chop the onion and place it in a small saucepan with the potato cubes. Cover with water and bring to a boil. Reduce the heat once it is boiling; then cover and simmer until potatoes soft when poked with a fork (10 to 15 minutes).
  • Drain the water off and then mash the potatoes and onions together until smooth; set aside. (Note: you need about 3/4 cup of mashed potatoes & onions to add to this recipe.)
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine the egg, butter, honey or syrup, cheese, parsley, salt, pepper, yeast (dry-do not mix with water), warm milk, mashed potato mixture, and 3 cups of flour. Mix all ingredients together until well mixed.
  • Add enough of the remaining cup of flour to make the dough just stiff enough to be able to knead. Mix in with hands if necessary.
  • When just stiff enough to knead, place the dough on a lightly floured surface and knead the bread for approximately 8 minutes.
  • When done kneading, divide the dough into 3 even sections. Working on the floured surface, roll and form each section into an 18" long rope.
  • Place the 3 ropes on a large greased baking sheet. Gather the 3 ropes at one end and then begin to braid the sections together. When you have the entire loaf braided, pinch each end together and tuck under.
  • Cover the loaf with a light kitchen towel and place the loaf in a warm place to rise. Allow the loaf to rise to double in size. This should take approximately 60 minutes, depending on how warm the area is where it is place.
  • Once the loaf has double in size, brush the top with the egg wash and sprinkle with extra parmesan cheese.
  • Preheat oven to 350° F. and bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until it is a nice golden brown.
  • When done, remove it from the baking sheet immediately and place on a cooling rack.
  • When cooled, it is ready to slice and serve.

  • 1/4 cup orange Juice
  • 1/2 cup Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/2 cup balsamic vinegar
  • 3/4 cup soy sauce
  • 2 1/2 tablespoons dry mustard
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ground pepper
  • 2 cloves fresh minced garlic
  • Fresh pineapple or vegetables (such as onions, peppers, and squash)
Directions
  • Cut chicken into 1-inch cubes. Place in a gallon sealable plastic bag; set aside.
  • Mix all wet ingredients together, then mix all of the dry ingredients (add garlic here).
  • Whisk to mix thoroughly. Pour into bag with the chicken. Seal tightly and allow to marinate for 12 - 24 hours.
  • Put the chicken on the kabobs with pineapple or fresh vegetables and grill over medium-high heat. Turn kabobs often and grill until no longer pink in the middle, approximately 15 to 20 minutes depending on the heat of the grill.
  • Grilling the chicken on the kabobs with pineapple or fresh vegetables makes for a great dinner. I also recommend serving it over rice.

Directions
In a 3-quart saucepan, melt butter and brown broken pieces of spaghetti, being careful not to let them burn.

Add chicken broth and bring this to a boil.

When broth is boiling add the rice; cover and simmer on low heat about 20 minutes or until all liquid has absorbed.

  • 12 carrots
  • 3 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 1/4 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons fresh dill or parsley, minced
Directions
Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

If the carrots are thick, cut them in half lengthwise; if not, leave them whole. Slice the carrots diagonally in 1 1/2-inch-thick slices. The carrots will shrink while cooking so make the slices big.

Place them on a sheet pan. Sprinkle with olive oil, salt and pepper. Toss and spread into 1 layer and roast in the oven for 20 minutes, until browned and tender.

Toss the carrots with minced dill or parsley, season to taste, and serve.

  • 1 fresh pineapple
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar (you can substitute with maple syrup or honey)
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • vanilla ice cream

Directions
  • Clean the fresh pineapple by first trimming off the top and bottom of the pineapple; then cut the pineapple crosswise to create 1/2-inch thick slices. Trim the rind off of each ring, and cut out the tough core.
  • Set the rings aside, and preheat the grill to medium-high.
  • While the grill is preheating, combine the butter, brown sugar, and lemon juice in a small saucepan. Heat until the mixture is evenly mixed and the sugar is completely dissolved.
  • Brush the pineapple rings on one side with the glaze and place them on the grill, glazed side down; then brush the tops of the rings with the glaze.
  • Close the cover and grill for approximately 3 minutes or until the pineapple has distinct grill marks.
  • Turn the rings over and brush with the glaze again and then grill for another 3 minutes or until there are grill marks on the other side. Remove from the grill.
  • Place one or two pineapple rings on a plate with one or two scoops of ice cream in the center; then drizzle with maples syrup. Serve immediately.
