Churning my own vanilla using all fresh ingredients. It tastes great, but I get a slight buttery taste in my mouth after eating a bowl of it. Using 40% fresh cream.

If you over churn ice cream made with heavy cream it can cause it to have a buttery taste and texture. Can you please let me know what you think the best make of kitchen knife is.
The recipe calls for 1 cup of water. It says to add the poppy seeds to the water, then add the water to the mixture, then drain the poppy seeds.
